The general elections to elect the members of the 18^th Lok Sabha is primarily a fight between NDA (National Democratic Alliance) and INDIA Block (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance). The official dates of the elections are yet not declared by the Election Commission of India but the elections are expected to be held in April/May 2024 in multiple phases. Although the general mood of the public is in favor of the ruling party, today we will look at the election results expected from an astrological perspective.  We will have a look at the birth charts of prominent leaders and off-course the planetary transit position during these 2 months of April and May 2024.

In a major turn of events, the newly formed I.N.D.I.A. alliance suffered a huge blow, months before the 2024 General Elections, when one of the key members in the formation, Bihar’s Chief Minister’s Nitish Kumar-led JDU (Janata Dal United), decided to part ways and joined NDA, resulting in major blow in their stand against the ruling party amongst the voters.

The ruling alliance of NDA will once again be led by the BJP in the upcoming General Elections, with a total of 36 parties coming together under the NDA banner.

The alliance of 26 parties, including the Indian National Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Samajwadi Party and many more major state-level parties, will be challenging the PM Narendra Modi-led NDA in the upcoming General Election, under the banner of I.N.D.I.A alliance.

Important Planetary Transits During April and May 2024

Solar Eclipse

India will experience a total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, at 9:12 PM, that will last until 2:22 AM on April 9, 2024. This is the most important celestial event wherein Sun and Rahu would both come closer in the galaxy in Revati Nakshatra in the sign of Pisces. Sun represents government and Rahu represents instability. During Solar eclipse Sun is devoured by Rahu (that’s the literal meaning of the word “Grahan”). Though this does not bode well for the ruling party but the saving grace is Revati Nakshatra whose ruler is Mercury (friend of Sun also friend of Rahu) and Pisces is ruled by Jupiter (again friend of Sun). This event would have minimal or no impact if the elections start after 13^th April 2024 as by then Sun would enter into Aries its sign of exaltation. We can expect some event just before the start of election which would be destabilizing for the ruling party due to this Solar eclipse event.

Saturn’s Aspect on Sun

As I said Sun would enter Aries its sign of exaltation on 13^th April 2024 and would remain in Aries for one complete month till 13^th May 2024. During this month of Sun’s stay in Aries, it would be getting third aspect of Saturn which would be in Aquarius. This again does not bode well for the ruling government as Sun represents Government and Saturn represents Misery. Thus, the entire period when the votes would be cast would happen when Sun is in mixed state both strong due to its position in Aries and also weak due to Saturn’s aspect.

Jupiter’s Support to Sun

Jupiter is currently transiting in Aries and would transit to Taurus on 1^st May 2024. So, Sun would be getting the able support of the wisdom Guru -Jupiter in Aries till 30^th April 2024. Thus, this is positive for Sun or the ruling government.

Ketu and Sun – Shadastak Yoga

From 13^th April 2024 to 13^th May 2024 Sun would be posited 8^th from Ketu and Ketu in Virgo would be 6^th position from Sun. As per Lal Kitab Sun would be hit by Ketu (Takkar) due to this 6^th and 8^th positioning. This again is not very good for Sun (read ruling party).

Summary of Planetary Transit

As we can see there are more negatives transit wise for the ruling party than positives. Off-course Transit are not the only factor that would matter, ultimate result also depends on the strengths of individual birth charts of prominent leaders. Let’s have a look at the individual birth chart of prominent leaders both from NDA and INDIA.

NDA Leaders

Shri Narendra Modi

Success in Competition is seen from 6^th house and Name and Fame is seen from 10^th house. In the above chart Mars is the ruler of both Ascendant and also the 6^th house. Mars enters Aquarius on 15^th March 2024 and remains in Aquarius till 22^nd April 2024. In Aquarius, Saturn the bitter enemy of Mars is already posited. Additionally, Transit Saturn in Aquarius would also look at his Natal Mars with its 10^th aspect. From 23^rd April 2024 till 31^st May 2024, Mars would be in Pisces in the company of Rahu and under the direct aspect of its bitter enemy Ketu. Thus, we have seen that Mars is afflicted and this definitely will be a difficult period for Shri Modi in terms of his physical well-being.

We have already seen above (in the transit analysis section) that Sun the lord of 10^th house is facing difficult time first by way of Solar eclipse and then by third aspect of transit Saturn. This will lead to some challenges to his public image.

Shri Amit Shah

Again, we will be looking at 6^th and 10^th house and the position of their lords. In the above chart Saturn, the lord of 6^th house will be posited in the 6^th house in transit. But as discussed above Saturn would lose its strength in Grah Yudh (Planetary war) with Mars. Mercury the lord of 10^th house would enter Pisces on 9^th April 2024 and will remain in Pisces till 9^th May 2024. Pisces is the sign of Debilitation for Mercury thus Mercury too will be weak. After 9^th May its position would improve as it enters Aries in the company of Sun. So, it’s again not very great for Amit Shah as well.

Shri Nitin Gadkari

In the above Chart, similar to Shri Amit Shah’s 10^th house lord is Saturn posited in 10^th house in transit and loosing strength due to planetary war with Mars. Venus is the lord of 6^th house. Venus enters Pisces on 31^st March 2024 and remain in Pisces till 23^rd April 2024. Venus is exalted in Pisces and also with the company of Rahu its strength would multiply. Thus, Shri Nitin Gadkari is expected to perform better in BJP.

Shri Yogi Aadityanath

In the above chart, Saturn lord of 6^th house is loosing its power in planetary war with Mars and Venus the lord of 10^th house is powerful as it is exalted in Pisces from 31^st March 2024 and till 23^rd April 2024. Thus, like Nitin Gadkari it is a mixed bag but Shri Yogi is likely to perform better in NDA.

INDIA Leaders

Shri Mallikarjun Kharge

Above Chart of Shri Mallikarjun Kharge is similar to that of Shri Amit Shah as both have Virgo as the ascendant. In the above chart Saturn, the lord of 6^th house will be posited in the 6^th house in transit. But as discussed above Saturn would lose its strength in Grah Yudh (Planetary war) with Mars. Mercury the lord of 10^th house would enter Pisces on 9^th April 2024 and will remain in Pisces till 9^th May 2024. Pisces is the sign of Debilitation for Mercury thus Mercury too will be weak. After 9^th May its position would improve as it enters Aries in the company of Sun. So, it’s again not very great for Mallikarjun Kharge.

Shri Arvind Kejriwal

Above Chart of Shri Arvind Kejriwal is similar to that of Shri Nitin Gadkari as both have Taurus as the ascendant. The lord of 10^th house is losing strength to Mars in planetary war as discussed above and Venus the lord of 6^th house will be posited in the sign of exaltation in Pisces during the election period as discussed above. Thus, Shri Arvind Kejriwal is expected to perform better in Lok Sabha elections.

Smt. Mamta Banerjee

One of the important deciding factors again would be the transit position of lord of 6^th and 10^th house. In the above chart Mercury is the lord of 6^th house which would be the sign of debilitation as seen above during transit and Saturn the lord of 10^th house would be losing its power in planetary war with Mars, thus below par performance expected from Smt. Mamta Banerjee.

Shri Sharad Pawar

Above birth chart is similar to that of Shri Modi in terms of Scorpio ascendant. In the above chart Mars is the ruler of both Ascendant and also the 6^th house. Mars enters Aquarius on 15^th March 2024 and remains in Aquarius till 22^nd April 2024. In Aquarius, Saturn the bitter enemy of Mars is already posited. Additionally, Transit Saturn in Aquarius would also look at his Natal Sun with its 10^th aspect. From 23^rd April 2024 till 31^st May 2024, Mars would be in Pisces in the company of Rahu and under the direct aspect of its bitter enemy Ketu. Thus, we have seen that Mars is afflicted and this definitely will be a difficult period for Shri Sharad Pawar in terms of his physical well-being.

Conclusion

Thus, we conclude that the planetary position is indicating towards NDA victory but the same would not be by a big margin given the above transit challenges.
