Darvesh Ketu…Ketu The Monk!

Darvesh Ketu…Ketu The Monk!

Son of Simhika, Rahu, tried drinking Amrit (nectar for eternal life) stealthily and that invoked the wrath of Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu released his Sudarshan Chakra and chopped off the head of Rahu. But by then Rahu had already drank few drops of Amrit which made him immortal. The head is known as Rahu and the headless body is known as Ketu. Both Rahu and Ketu are two polarities or two extremes. Rahu is ambition, unquenching thirst, ever hungry whereas Ketu is renunciation, satisfaction and content. Ketu is the disciple of Jupiter and gives the best results when Ketu is conjunct with Jupiter. Ketu is the significator of cuts, blood and suddenness. Dr. Manmohan Singh has Ketu conjunct with Jupiter in the 9th house. Both Jupiter and Ketu are strong in 9th house and Ketu suddenly made him the prime minister. Placement of Ketu in your chart represents the area of life where you had given maximum attention in your past life and hence in this life Ketu is placed in that particular house to give you detachment towards that area of life. Ketu represents pole and the flag which is hoisted on the pole is Rahu. Ketu is Moksha karak. Yes, you read it right. Although Jupiter represents Dharma, it is Ketu which give you dharma. Hence Ketu is very strong in the 12th house as the 12th hose is the hose of salvation or Moksha. Ketu gives bad results when conjunct with Sun and Moon. It gives neutral results when conjunct with Mercury and Venus. It gives particularly bad results when conjunct with Mars and Saturn. Ketu conjunct with Mars give Angarak dosha and makes the person extremely short tempered.

Now, let us discuss, results of Ketu in different houses. Ketu in Lagna or first house makes the person tall and slim (remember Ketu represents pole). It also makes the person indecisive as Ketu has heart or emotions but no brain, hence such person feels lost in life and finds it difficult to understand the purpose of his or her life. Ketu in second house gives detachment towards family and makes the person oblivious towards worldly relationships. Ketu in third house will give unnecessary short trips and strained relationship with siblings. Ketu in fourth house is considered good for spiritual progress as fourth house is one of the Moksha houses. But Ketu in fourth house gives ill health to the native’s mother.

Ketu in fifth house if malefic (Ketu becomes benefic or malefic in a birth chart as per the placement of Jupiter and placement of planets in Jupiter’s houses and also depends on the aspects on Ketu) gives breaks in education. Ketu in sixth house is good at winning over enemies and is also good for performing in competitive examinations. Ketu in seventh house gives detachment towards life partner and also business partner. Ketu in seventh house makes the native disinterested in married life. Ketu in 8th house is very comfortably placed as eighth house is the house of mysticism and occult which represents Ketu. It makes the native a good astrologer, good at research and also a good surgeon (Ketu represents cuts). Ketu in 9th house is considered strong as 9th house is the house of religion. Ketu well placed in 9th house will give good higher education, religious inclination, overseas settlement and makes the native a good counsellor. Ketu in 10th house is not a good placement for Ketu as 10th house is the house of work and profession and Ketu is renunciation and detachment. Such person would be seen constantly changing jobs. But Ketu in 10th house gives the person immense energy and sometimes it even makes the person an excellent sports person. Ketu in 11th house if well placed will give good amount of earnings and wish fulfillments. Ketu in 12th house is a good placement and is often referred as Moksha Karak. This is not always the case. As every 2 hours ascendant changes and someone or the other would have Ketu in 12th house but not everyone attains Moksha. But Ketu in 12th house give peaceful death but in case of any malefic aspects it could even be a violent death.
