Natives having weak mercury in chart can strengthen it by worshipping Lord Vishnu. One of the methods to appease Lord Vishnu is by circumambulating the mountain Govardhan and worshipping it. There is a story on Govardhan mountain in the scriptures. Govardhan was a simple but mighty mountain. One day a hermit Pulastya passed by and instantly developed a liking to Govardhan mountain. He planned to carry the mountain to Varanasi and peacefully meditate in one of the caves of Govardhan.
Govardhan agreed to go with Pulastya but on one condition -wherever the great hermit would place him down after lifting him up then he would not move from that spot. The hermit agreed. Pulastya picked up Govardhan and started flying towards Varanasi. As they flew over Vrindavan, Govardhan felt an urge to settle down there. Govardhan used his mystic powers and Pulastya felt an urge to attend to nature’s call. The hermit was forced to place down the mountain in Vrindavan.
After relieving himself, Pulastya tried to lift Govardhan to continue towards Varanasi, but the mountain didn’t move. Pulastya got angry and cursed Govardhan that it will shrink in size and become a small hillock. Govardhan accepted the curse gracefully. This is a perfect example how one should accept the will of God and accept all circumstances with equanimity.
Later on, during Treta yug, Lord Hanuman tried to pick up Govardhan and bring it to Dhanushkodi to make it a part of the bridge being built for Shri Ram to cross over the Indian ocean and reach Sri Lanka. At that moment, a voice came from the sky announcing that the bridge was already complete. So Lord Hanuman dropped the idea of carrying Govardhan. At this, Govardhan felt very sad as he couldn’t be a part of the bridge and be of service to Shree Ram.
Later on, during Dwapar yug, Shree Krishna (Avataar of Vishnu) grew up into a young boy in Vraja and was attracted to Govardhan. He used to take cows to Govardhan for grazing and used to play with the cowherd boys and girls. One day Lord Krishna wanted to teach Indra a lesson since he had become too proud of the Yajnas performed by Vrajwasis. He convinced his father to discontinue the Yajnas performed for Indra. At this, Indra got enraged and decided to drown the Vrajwasis with excess rainfall and stormy winds. Lord Krishna thwarted his plans by lifting Govardhan on his tiny little finger like a big umbrella.
