Mars is the planet which signifies energy and vitality. It is a fiery hot planet which if benefic will give large tracks of land to the native and if Mars is malefic in the chart the native will suffer from temper tantrums and the native’s life gets ruined. If Mars is forming a relationship with its bitter enemy Ketu in the birth chart, then Mars becomes malefic. This relationship could be in any form, Ketu and Mars conjunct sitting together in the same house, Mars and Ketu aspecting each other, Ketu occupying the houses of Mars like 1st and 8th house. Due to malefic Mars, three planets lose their power, those three planets are Mercury, Venus and Ketu. With a malefic Mars in your birth chart, Mercury gets impacted which means your work and profession would suffer. With a malefic Mars in your birth chart, Venus gets impacted which means your luxuries and relationship with wife gets impacted. With a malefic Mars in your birth chart, Ketu gets impacted which means relationship with children gets impacted. If Sun and Mercury are conjunct in birth chart Mars gains strength. However, if Sun and Saturn are conjunct in birth chart, Mars would lose strength.
The Sun, Moon and Jupiter are his friends, whereas Mercury and Ketu are his enemies. Rahu and Saturn are neutral to Mars. The first cycle of Mars runs between the ages 28 and 33, the 2nd between 63 and 68 years and the 3rd between 98 and 103 years. The 1st and 8th houses are the own houses of Mars and Mars gets exalted in the 10th house and gets debilitated in 4th house. Mars acts as a malefic in the 4th and 8th houses, but Mars is benefic if placed in the 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11 and 12th houses.
Mars is the significator of sex, brothers, land and property and rules over the animal instincts in man. A benefic Mars offers self-confidence, sharp wit, faculty of argumentation and adventurous spirit, strong determination and qualities of leadership in all human pursuits. On the contrary, a weak and afflicted Mars makes the native lose temper quickly, fool hardy, quarrelsome and brutal. Such a Mars makes the native a sexual pervert.
