Today I would discuss remedies which back fire and people experience disastrous effects after doing the same.

Piercing Nose and wearing Silver Ring:

This remedy is to be done in special cases when the native is experiencing excessive delay in marriage when Mercury is the reason for delay in marriage. This remedy is also done when the person is suffering from critical illness caused due to a bad Mercury in birth chart. If a person does this remedy just like that there would be many bad effects like difficulties in academics, becoming blank, floundering in speech, loss of confidence, etc.

Dropping Lead Elephant in Water

This remedy is to be done in the rarest of the rare case when the native is badly stuck in court cases and false allegations. A native whose Rahu is in 8^th house and also Mars is severely afflicted then this remedy is done. Precaution is to be adopted while performing this remedy, if not done under correct guidance person’s personal life would be ruined and he or she would experience loss of job/business. Also, lead is a poisonous metal, it should be dropped only in flowing water. Else this would lead to poisoning of water and the aquatic animals would die. This will earn the native bad karma and his Moon will be destroyed and he would experience severe cash crunch.

Square Silver Piece

This is another common remedy prescribed, one is advised to keep square piece of silver in pocket. This is not a remedy but a litmus test used to check the status of Rahu in birth chart. Bury Black Surma (Kohl)

Black Surma which is used to apply in the eyes is also a remedy which people do based on half-baked knowledge. People with Saturn in 1^st house bury bottle of Surma in earth. But this should never be done by a native whose Mercury is strong in birth chart. Inappropriate use of this remedy will bring troubles and misfortunes in life.

Bury Mustard Oil

This again a popular remedy which people do pacify Saturn. Earthen pot filled with Mustard oil is buried in earth to reap good effects of Saturn. But this remedy is to be done only when Saturn is placed in 6^th house and there are planets in 2^nd house. This remedy is to be done only if the native is married before the age of 27 years. This indicates Saturn is activated in the native chart. Any haphazard adoption of this remedy will create chaos in the native’s life. This is to be done only in special cases like Sun is under eclipse and the native is suffering from poor health. This is not to be done for business problems.

Feeding Moong (Green Pulse) soaked in alum water

Often people out of overenthusiasm and to extract the maximum benefit out of a remedy do this remedy. A very good remedy to strengthen Mercury is to feed pigeons and birds Moong soaked in water. Feeding Moong soaked in water makes it easier for the birds to eat. But at times some cruel people feed Moong soaked in alum water (alum is significator of Mercury) to birds. Drink Liquor
