Gaj Kesari Yoga is one of the most powerful and auspicious yoga which will nullify other malefic yoga in birth chart subject to certain conditions.  Gaj means Elephant and Kesari means Lion. Both these animals represent strength, power and royalty. So, a person having Gaj Kesari yoga would be powerful, prosperous and respected in society. This yoga is formed when Jupiter is conjunct with Moon or Jupiter is placed 4^th, 7^th or 10^th house from Moon which means in Kendra from Moon. Moon represents Mind and Jupiter represents Knowledge. Thus, when a person’s mind is in unison with his or her knowledge then there are no hurdles. Such native would be loved and respected by people around him or her and would be super prosperous in life. Strengthening of Jupiter and Moon in good houses will result in weakening of Jupiter’s enemies which are Mercury and Venus. Generally, it is observed that there are some ill effects of this yoga. The person could be poor in intellect (as Mercury effects get cancelled) and may have strained married life as Venus represents relationship. Again, this is a general observation and actual situation would vary depending on the placement of other planets in the birth chart.

Gaj Kesari Yoga formed with Moon and Jupiter conjunct in Mars Ruled Sign -Aries and Scorpio:

Such person would be fearless, dominating and very strong both physically and mentally. Such person could be part of government services or into the defense sector or police administration. Such person could also be a good surgeon or a doctor as Scorpio sign indicates surgery and research work.

Such person would be very intelligent, sharp analytical mind, and good memory power. He or she would be highly educated as Sagittarius indicates religion and higher learning as well. Such person would be very emotional as Pisces represent emotional personality.

Gaj Kesari Yoga formed with Moon and Jupiter conjunct in Venus Ruled Sign -Taurus and Libra:

Both Taurus and Libra sign represents art, which could be in any form like acting, music, dance, painting, etc. Taurus sign represents earth which in turn represents resources. Libra represents beam balance (sign of Libra) or in other word Business. Thus, person having Jupiter and Moon conjunct in either Taurus or Libra would be good in art, he or she would be resourceful and successful in business.

Such person would be incredibly wealthy and face no shortage of funds. He or she would be really hard working as Saturn represents hard work. He or she could be into the business of Mining, Oil, Construction, Real Estate, etc. This is because Saturn represents all these areas.

Sun represents ego, government, education, leadership, authority and seniority. Thus, such person would be into government job, politics or into teaching job. Such people make very good politicians, leaders and administrators.

Gaj Kesari Yoga formed with Moon and Jupiter conjunct in Moon Ruled Sign -Cancer:

Moon represent liquidity, mother, luxury, comforts, mind, emotions, food & nutrition and even vehicles. Such person would have all the luxuries in life like palatial house, high end cars, good bank balance and loving mother. Such person would be very emotional. Such person could be into food business (grocery) or even restaurants as Moon represents food.

Many of us wonder why the effects of Gaj Kesari Yoga are not felt although birth chart fulfills the condition which is Jupiter conjunct with Moon or Jupiter is placed 4^th, 7^th or 10^th house from Moon. This is because nothing in Astrology is so simple and straight forward. There are other conditions as well. Let us discuss what these other conditions are.

Jupiter and Moon conjunct in 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd, 4^th, 5^th or 9^th house will bestow auspicious results on the native. Jupiter and Moon conjunction in other houses do not give its best results. Again, some of you would complain that they have Jupiter and Moon conjunct in 1^st, 2^nd, 3 ^rd, 4^th, 5^th or 9^th house still the auspicious results are not experienced. Such people should check their 2^nd, 5^th, 9^th and 12^th house which are the natural houses of Jupiter. If these houses are occupied by enemies of Jupiter which are Mercury, Venus and Rahu then that person (such person has Pitru-Dosha -refer my below link to understand this better) will not get the beneficial results of Moon and Jupiter Conjunction. Also, if Ketu is placed in 4^th house which is the natural house of Moon the good results of Moon and Jupiter are denied as Ketu who is the enemy of Moon, weakens Moon and leads to Matri Rin (debt owed to Mother).
